Why should one donate blood and what are its benefits?
According to statistics, about 12,000 people die every day in our country due to not getting blood on time. According to the Government of India, about 15 lakh units of blood are required every year, whereas due to misconceptions and lack of awareness about blood donation in the society, only 11 lakh units of blood are available. That is, there is a shortage of about 4 lakh units of blood every year.
